My Reflections of Web Conferences
What I learned from the web conferences, were very beneficial for the completion of this class. I attended the first conference with a lot of hesitation and uncertainty. I did not know what to expect from the class and how I was going to complete the course work. I had never used adobeconnect, and I1 was a little overwhelmed because I had to attend mandatory conferences that conflicted with my work schedule. However, Dr. Abshire explained everything crystal clear in week one web conferences. She explained how the course work was to be completed and what we were going to learn from the completion of the course. She also explained that the conferences will be recorded, for those of us who could not attend the live webcast. This was a big relief for me since my work schedule hours vary from mornings, evenings and graveyard shifts. My dis advantage for this class is, not being in a teaching environment and not knowing the current technology usage in the classrooms. I learned that whiteboards are being utilized throughout the state of Texas and technology is a necessary tool for educational success. The assignments for weeks one and two were very challenging for me, due to not knowing the applications. Once again, Dr. Abshire during week two web conference explained the "how to do" and answered questions so clearly, in which, lead me to understand what vision I wanted to interpret for my projects. During week two conference, there were a lot of questions about how to use the voice over in audiacity. Not only the information that Dr. Abshire provided was helpful but information sources from my fellow peers were helpful. The third web conference that I attended was week five last webcast. This web conference was very helpful in the completion of the group project. The conference helped me understand what particular criteria and the different learning element’s was needed in the group videos. The web conference was short but still very helpful for the completion of this course. Overall, my experience in this course has helped me to understand that different technology concepts are needed for today’s success in classroom curriculums. I’m very appreciative to learn and master the few applications that were presented in coursework and I’m looking forwards to learning more in the other courses.
