My Web Conference Reflections

My Reflections of Web Conferences
What I learned from the web conferences, were very beneficial for the completion of this class. I attended the first conference with a lot of hesitation and uncertainty. I did not know what to expect from the class and how I was going to complete the course work. I had never used adobeconnect, and I1 was a little overwhelmed because I had to attend mandatory conferences that conflicted with my work schedule. However, Dr. Abshire explained everything crystal clear in week one web conferences. She explained how the course work was to be completed and what we were going to learn from the completion of the course. She also explained that the conferences will be recorded, for those of us who could not attend the live webcast. This was a big relief for me since my work schedule hours vary from mornings, evenings and graveyard shifts. My dis advantage for this class is, not being in a teaching environment and not knowing the current technology usage in the classrooms. I learned that whiteboards are being utilized throughout the state of Texas and technology is a necessary tool for educational success. The assignments for weeks one and two were very challenging for me, due to not knowing the applications. Once again, Dr. Abshire during week two web conference explained the
"how to do" and answered questions so clearly, in which, lead me to understand what vision I wanted to interpret for my projects. During week two conference, there were a lot of questions about how to use the voice over in audiacity. Not only the information that Dr. Abshire provided was helpful but information sources from my fellow peers were helpful. The third web conference that I attended was week five last webcast. This web conference was very helpful in the completion of the group project. The conference helped me understand what particular criteria and the different learning elements was needed in the group videos. The web conference was short but still very helpful for the completion of this course. Overall, my experience in this course has helped me to understand that different technology concepts are needed for todays success in classroom curriculums. Im very appreciative to learn and master the few applications that were presented in coursework and Im looking forwards to learning more in the other courses.

Educational leaders blog

Educational leaders use blogs to networking, communicating professional ideals, receiving feedback and reviewing their own reflections on important data.  Blogs make it easy for educators to communicate from state to state or nation to nation.

What is action research?

Action research in my opinion is a necessity, in the academic world.  When a company depends on an outside resource for information and data, the truth can be exaggerate and no solution or resolution may be the ending the result of the research.  With action research, there is an inside resource that is using a systematic approach to solve problems that may come about in school districts and classrooms.   The steps in action research consist of, learning the problem, analyzing the data, developing the data, exploring ideals, determining the best recommendation for the problem, taking action to correct the problem and sustaining improvement.  The person conducting the studies can range from an administrator, teacher or aide.  This person will go step by step to solve problems that hinder academic performance and advancement.   Reflection is also a factor in action research.  Reflection can be used from the beginning to the end of action research.  It allows the researches to look back and brainstorm on ideals or decisions.  It makes the person understand the honest truth of a situation and how they can learn from its outcome.  Action research also encourages lifelong learning, leadership skills, open communication and professional learning communities.  These entities cannot exist without the other.
